Other Links National Debtline (http://www.nationaldebtline.co.uk/) This is an organisation offering free, confidential and independent advice on how to deal with debt problems. They offer advice by phone and you can download self help packs and many useful information sheets. There is a very good list of more free helplines and other advice agencies who may be able to give you more help and assistance. Citizens Advice Bureau (http://www.adviceguide.org.uk/) The Citizens Advice Bureau has a site called Adviceguide, which is very useful. Under the section called "Your money", there is good basic advice about debt and simple guidelines for dealing with money problems. Consumer Credit Counselling Service (CCCS) (http://www.cccs.co.uk/) The Consumer Credit Counselling Service is a registered charity whose purpose is to assist people who are in financial difficulty by providing free, independent, impartial and realistic advice. CCCS offer advice by phone or an online service called "Debt Remedy", where you tell them your details and they will suggest a remedy. Entitledto (http://www.entitledto.co.uk/) This site works out the benefits you are entitled to. You will need to have relevant information to hand, such as income details. It is very easy to use and is confidential. Community Money Advice (http://www.communitymoneyadvice.com/) This site tells you about the organisation we belong to. It has a map of the UK showing where other centres are located. Business DebtLine (http://www.bdl.org.uk/) Their site has a freephone for any business debts. |
